QDOLO oral solution contains tramadol HCl 5mg/1mL. It is a clear, colorless solution with a grape aroma and is supplied in 16 oz. bottles. QDOLO should be stored at 68oF to 77oF (excursions permitted to 59oF to 86oF.)
Your doctor will instruct you on how to measure and take the correct dose of QDOLO.
You are strongly advised to always use a calibrated oral dosing device, with metric units of measurement (i.e., mL) to correctly measure the prescribed amount of medication. A calibrated oral dosing cup is included with your prescription.
Calibrated oral dosing devices with metric units of measurement are available at your pharmacy. You should never use household teaspoons or tablespoons to measure QDOLO.
Never adjust the dose of QDOLO without consulting with a physician or other healthcare professional.
Your doctor will work closely with you to determine the appropriate dosage for your treatment. Doctors generally start patients with a low dosage of QDOLO, administered orally. They may gradually increase the dosage based on how you respond and how well you tolerate QDOLO. Here is the dosage schedule recommended for initiating treatment with QDOLO.
5 mL (25mg) once a day for 3 days (25mg/day)
5 mL (25mg) twice a day for 3 days (50 mg/day)
5 mL (25mg) three times a day for 3 days (75 mg/day)
5 mL (25mg) four times a day for 3 days (100 mg/day)
After that, your doctor may increase your dose by 50 mg as tolerated every 3 days to reach 200 mg/day (50 mg [10 mL] four times a day).
After titration (adjusting your dosage for the maximum benefit without adverse effects) you doctor may prescribe QDOLO 50 mg to 100 mg as needed for pain relief every 4-6 hours not to exceed 400 mg/day.
When a decision has been made to decrease your dose or discontinue therapy, there are a variety of factors your doctor will consider when determining how to taper your dose. There are no standard opioid tapering schedules that are suitable for all patients. Good clinical practice dictates a patient-specific plan to taper your dose of QDOLO gradually.
